On April 21, Foster Family Project clients had a holiday. The children were taken to a tour to the first St. Petersburg interactive museum of science “Labirintum”.

DTC Makes an Experience Exchange Visit to Denmark and Sweden

On April 15-21, DTC staff made a study tour to five partner organizations in Denmark and Sweden within the framework of an experience-exchange program entitled “Strengthening Professional Capacity of Government and NGO Service Providers in Assisting Victims of Child Abuse”.

Sergey “Seryozha” left school after the sixth grade, ran away from home, and began living in a basement with other street youth, going unwashed and hungry. What little he did have to eat, he got from begging in the streets or by engaging in petty theft. When Seryozha first came into contact with the outreach team, in fall 2006, he was very suspicious of the staff, and claimed that he never used drugs or alcohol; however, his behavior suggested otherwise, and Seryozha eventually acknowledged that he used injecting drugs.

Large and Strong Family

Natalia and Vladislav were first placed in the social rehabilitation center “Vera” (Vera Shelter) in June 2008, after being removed from their neglectful mother. Their mother did not visit them in the shelter. The children’s father was serving a prison sentence for drug trafficking.
